Noah named CDW/Sony Notebooks Player of the Month
Joakim Noah has been named the Bulls CDW/Sony Notebooks Player of the Month for April.
The 6-11, 232-pound forward is the season’s sixth and final winner of the monthly award, joining Andrés Nocioni (November), Ben Gordon (December), Joe Smith (January), Thabo Sefolosha (February) and Drew Gooden (March).
Noah has started all eight of his April appearances and posted averages of 10.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.63 spg, 1.5 apg and 1.38 bpg in 31.5 mpg. He has shot .509 from the floor and .625 from the free throw line.
Noah has led the team in rebounds two times. He has reached double figures in scoring five times and registered two double-double performances. His April averages in points, assists, steals, blocks and minutes all marked season-best monthly averages for the rookie.
During the month, Noah registered season high marks in free throws made (9), free throws attempted (13), assists (4), steals (4), blocks (4) and minutes (40:16).
On the year, Joakim Noah has started 31 of his 73 appearances and averaged 6.5 ppg (16th among NBA rookies), 5.6 rpg (fourth among NBA rookies) and 1.1 apg (14th among NBA rookies) in 20.6 mpg. He has shot .479 (sixth among NBA rookies) from the floor and .688 from the free throw line.
